My fishing knife a stainless steel gerber folding knife is developing rust. I like the knife as it is light weight and has a serrated blade.

Any tips on how to remove the rust. This knife gets dunked in salt water and rolled in the sand often.

Thanks,

Mike

To prevent - always , at the end of the day thoroughly rinse knife and sheath Never put a knife into a wet sheath !
Removing light rust use a week acid and fine abrasive paper.

0000 steel wool and 3-in-1 oil has worked for me.

Try something like ProtectaClear afterwards as a barrier to salt corrosion.
