Thought I would post a project that I am just in the process of finishing. This knife has a few firsts for me - steel is S35VN, black micarta handles with red G10 liners and red G10 pins. First time working with most of these materials, first time making this blade shape, and I sharpened it on the belt grinder instead of water stones or using the Worksharp. Edge is not quite as good as I can get it with the other methods, but its about 80%-90% of the way there. As usual, I learned a lot, made some new mistakes, plus I made a couple of cockups I already know about.

I am a beginner knifemaker too. Few things more satisfying than making a functional knife for the first time, imperfections besides.
Good job and thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I finished up a gutting knife to match. First time I have made a set like this.

Kydex is just to stop them from cutting me or the pack while I am carrying them. Drilling out the rivit holes in a bit of a hurry and went a bit wonky hilbily hilbily hilbily

A very practical pair of knives.
A slightly off topic question....what rivets do you use on the Kydex?

Hi mate

Take a look at these. The links below are good for 2 sheets. If you are joining more sheets, you need longer ones:

Also, you need a setting tool. I use one like this:
