Just acquired a nice ruger #1 in 9.3x74 and have an assortment of 9.3 bullets. I was hoping that some members would be willing to share some of their favorite loads.
Thank you in advance for the help.

63.5 grains of IMR 4350 with a Hornady 286 gr SP shot very well in my Chapuis, but the loads crossed. Not a concern for you in a single shot.

The same powder charge with the Speer 270 gr. Bullets shot to the same zero as Norma 286 gr. Factory loads.

Many shoot 65.0 gr IMR 4831 with the 286 of their choice because it seems to duplicate most factory loads used to regulate the double rifles.

56-57 gr. Reloader 15 is also another favorite with the 286 grain bullets.

If you cast bullets, the "Mountain Molds" 290 gr bullet, gas checked and lubed, with 25 gr. SR4759 shot knots in my double. It's about a 1600 fps load, not exactly light, but probably very effective on deer. It's about like a 38-55 +P load. I think the 9.3 X 74r is a dandy cast bullet cartridge if you don't have to worry about regulation in a double.

I also have a 9.3x74R No.1-S rifle and used the Nosler load data as a reference to develop a load for my rifle.

http://www.nosler.com/nosler-load-data/93x74-r/

Using H4350 I get 2450 fps MV with the 285gr PRVI bullet and 2400 fps MV with the Nosler 286gr bullet as near-maximum loads in my No.1 rifle. With both loads I get sub 1.5 MOA accuracy at 100 yards off the bench rest. Cool

QuickLOAD predicts higher speeds with Reloder17, but I'm happy using H4350.

I have reloaded for my 9.3x74R quite a bit, but it is an O/U double (Tikka 512SD) and so I was more concerned with getting a load that regulated well, or that could be made to regulate well in my double.

I handload for my FN-Browning CCS25 o/u in 9,3x74R. Here are some of the loads I particularly like for drive hunting wild boar (running shots).

Norma Oryx 286 / H4831 / 65.0. U/O x2 at 50 meters

Norma 286 Plastic Point / H4831 / 65.0. U/O x2 at 50 meters

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

Thanks everyone for the help. The winner is 250 grain TTSX behind 62.5 grains of Reloader 15. Today it shot a three shot group of 1.1 inches at 150 yards.
Great gun.
Thanks for the help.
