You have done some god work!
I have received some links but there was not so many pictures.
I have been told that the old Brno has integrated peepsight. Does anyone have a picture?
What models have that peepsight

HunterJim375H&H,
I have examined BRNO 600 series rifles with the pop-up peep sight, but I don't have any dates or serial numbers of rifles so equipped. My BRNO 602 does not have this sight, and I bought it new in 1994 IIRC.

375HHAre they any god? These sights?

HunterJimThe pop-up peep sight was built into the integral base of the rear scope mount. There is a button on the right side of the base that you push to have the sight pop-up.
I once fired a .460 G&A on a BRNO 602 action with this pop-up sight at a gong at 100 yards -- no trouble hitting the gong standing. I would say they were not just good, they were great! They were also adjustable for windage and elevation.

fla3006I currently own 10 ZG-47's and have owned another 5. Assuming approximately 20,000 were made and based on the serial numbers and dates on those I have owned, I estimate that most were made in 1956, many in 1962, almost all the rest (20% or so) between 1956 and 1962. One 270Win I have was built in 1950 (2 digit serial number). I have observed 2 barrel lengths, polished and matte-finished receivers, 3 checkering patterns and 4 stock configurations. All mine have single triggers but double sets were supposedly available. I believe the overall finish and quality is somewhat better on the 21H & 22F types but ZG's are my favorite Mauser-type mass produced sporting rifles, although commercial FN's and pre-64 M-70's are nice too. I guess one should also include original Oberndorf Mausers.

375HHThere is a lot knowing out there. Thanks!
Which models have pop-up sight?
Does Brno have different action length?
09 February 2002, 12:05
HunterJim375 H&H,
BRNO models 600, 601 and 602 were of different lengths. I believe that all three lengths had the pop-up peep sight. I have shot a 602 so equipped, and have photos of the shorter actions showing the peep sight.

fla3006The ZKK-602 is the long magnum version (375, 416, 505, etc.), the 600 is the standard length (30-06, etc.) and the 601 is the shorter length (243, 308, 223). I don't know why they put the 458 in the 602's. I have owned rifles of each version. I particularly liked my 223 and my 375. My 270 had an outstanding piece of wood but the wood was fairly plain and soft on the other two. I like the 600 series Brnos better than the current 500 series.
