Graff and sons and some others are clearing out Speer Grand Slam in 375 and other calibers. I checked and 375a are $16.99 per 50.
A bargain is a bargain.
Cheers

Thanks. Ray mentioned this sale in a couple threads few weeks back. Gather it's closeout sale time on these bullets, so stocked up.

My understanding is Speer simplified the manufacturing process on these, eliminating the steel base insert. Have one box of the originals - packaged about like glass bottles with a foam pad under the bases. This newer version ought to work on Maine critters, if at least as tough as their 270 gr BTSP.

I had about six boxes of 285 grainsers. The bases grew the god awfullest corrosion you ever saw. I finally decided it was not worth the trouble to try to cleanup and threw them away.

Hmmm....just checked mine. Bases are slightly tarnished, but not enough to worry about. Thanks for the head's-up. Will remove the foam and dividers.

Keep them out of the humidity. I think mine were compromised in the garage on the Gulf Coast, for a number of years.

A brown truck is scheduled to drop some of these off later today. The price is right and shipping for as many boxes you desire is only $10.
I will open up the boxes and remove the foam pads as I too have seen these corrode the bullets over time.

Next time something like that happens, put them in your case tumbler and let is run until you're satisfied that they will clean up no further. I cringe at the thought of bullets being thrown away.

The GS 285s received from Grafs are loose packed like Speer 270s and 235s. No dividers or foam bases. And nothing tarnished so far (1st box).

The box I opened was the same way. They must have learned their lesson.

The more I look around, the harder it is it to find a cup and core bullet for just shooting. I'm glad I stocked up on Hornady round nose 270 when they where discontinued. Too bad the 225 spire points are gone too.
