Their shitty bedding is stuck.

Put a hair dryer to the action and warm it up really good. I bet you can pull it apart then. And you'll need to re-bed it correctly.

My Safari Express stock fits so tight around the action that I have to wrestle it in and out. I usually hold the scope and pound on the bottom of the stock with the heel of my hand to get it to seat all the way.

I think that the cross bolts are torqued to tight and compressing the stock. I can't unscrew them.

I find the same thing with my Heym Safari Express 416 Rigby. I decided to leave the bedding alone as the rifle shoots minute of angle and I do not want to relieve the action and take a chance of loosing the guilt edge accuracy.

They are supposed to be tight.
It is not the cross bolts.
Why are you guys taking them apart so much? That is not necessary.
GBS has the right idea; shoot it and leave the metal attached to the wood.

Good point.
Then remove it and scrape the bedding off the Front of the anyplace it is dragging; you will see it. Obviously don't remove any from the actual bearing surfaces. There will be two on a Safari; receiver and barrel lug.
Use paste wax, not oil.
