Thanks for sharing that one Amigo. One of my favorites; I hope everyone reads it. A real classic + a bit of Hem history as well. His 2nd wife Pauline Pfeiffer's(POM in Green Hills) used that rifle (the 256 Mannlicher) as did his 4th + last wife Mary Welsh. It is a superb rifle. As with all of Papa's writings he wrote about what he knew.

Oh + BTW, I forgot, he reintroduces it in "Islands In The Stream" to a great Hemingway description. Another required read.
