Just finished The Feather Thief by Kirk Wallace Johnson, an interesting read.
I'm a retired entomologist and a current Master Naturalist who spent much of my life with a flyrod in hand on Pennsylvania's limestone trout waters and countless hours at a fly tying vice. My son and his lady gifted me this book for Christmas, a perfect fit.
The story kept me up late. Got me frustrated enough to put the book down for a couple days and to draw me back to find out what happened.
This is the well documented nonfiction story of collector obsession of naturalists, flytyers, and an author that revolves around the theft of rare bird skins from the British Museum of Natural History.
Those of us who are collectors who have drifted close to obsession in our collecting may see some of ourselves or our acquaintances in some of this chronicle.
Enjoy,
Bfly

Very cool - thanks for the mention Black Fly.

I just found out not too long ago that Peter Capstick's brother Thomas was apparently a fly collector of note and his collection surpassed (so said his obituary) any known collection. This in 1981.
