WillBushwhacker: A True History of Bill Wilson -- Missouri's Greatest Desperado
I went to school in Phelps county, Missouri, so I am somewhat familiar with the geography mentioned in this small book, which concerns an equally small segment of the resistance against the north during the civil war.
It gives some insight into why the south hates yankees and lincoln.
And maybe a foretelling of things to come.

NormanConquestSounds like good reading. I know what you mean about relating to the area. Steven Saylor wore a book called "A Twist At The End" that while written as a novel, records the exploits of the 1st serial killer in Austin in the times of O. Henry (who was actually a suspect). Telling where all these young women were murdered + if you know the town it adds to the interest.

Bill/OregonBill, I will investigate, as my great grandfather served in the Third Wisconsin Cavalry and was active in this area. And no worries -- I have "Secesh" in the family tree as well.
