Anyone ever hear of a proprietary metal case shotshell made for the Ethan Allen SxS (double trap door) shotgun made circa 1865-1871?
Well, they were made & probably now relegated to the dustbin of history. I'm curious not as an "Academic" topic, but because I have the said shotgun & wouldn't mind finding just 1 of these shotshells (unloaded OK) as a representative example. The guns themselves are said to number only in the hundreds of manufacture..any finding the Ethan Allen shotshell is probably futile.
However, I thought I'd just throw the topic around & see if there might be one laying around somewhere..Best Regards, Tom

Tom,

Try posting this on the IAA forum:
IAA
That is the most likely place to find a shotshell specialist who would be able to help.

Good luck!
