There is a reference to the 32-70 USN cartridge
being loaded with smokeless powder by Winchester
in 1893.Winchester,The Gun That Won The West,by
Harold F.Williamson{page 448}. Anyone know anything about it?

there is a brief mention and specimen illustration on p.73 of Hoyem Vol 4 . It appears as tho this is a very scarce cartridge , as the information is scant to say the least. No mention of propellant powder. Not much help , but all I have at present .

I found the following info on the"Curtis Steinhauer"web site;straight taper case,.554 rim,
base .478,neck .358,case length 2.53,bullet dia..328,loaded length 3.27,bullet is 245gr.full patch.

I don't know which weapon it was chambered in.
