Most beautiful calibers
Tell what are two most beautiful calibers on your mind. My personal opinion is, small bore and big bore:

.22 Hornet and .465 H&H Magnum

PS. I don't own gun for those calibers, i'll just like them look.

Most beautiful caliber or headstamp?

If caliber then 25mm telescoped or 27mm caseless

If headstamp then 450 Soper Reading or 600 Jeffery KC

A question..
Do I have to be able to pick it up?
If I not I like 8 inch, it's the original varmit round.

N E 450 No2
I nominate the 450 No2 Nitro Express, or its near twin the 475 Nitro Express.

Invented in the early 1900's, they have a very thick rim.
They have a modern looking shoulder and neck.

The brass case is 3 1/2 inches long.

All in all they are very impressive looking rounds.

Like jens poulsen, I think the 505 Gibbs leaves you with no doubt in your mind.

I am astounded to find the .22 Hornet mentioned. I have no use for that round. Handsome is as handsome does.

I always admired the 22 Lindahl Chucker.

22 K-Hornet

I like Lahti L-39`s cartridge. .50BGM looks so small compared to Lahti`s shell.
For those who didn`t recognise caliber, shell dimensions are 20mm X 138B Solothurn Long

I don't really have any use for one, but like Buckeye I feel the 300 H&H is a pretty classy looking round.

I agree, BUT....I always wished they had come up with a bullet a bit more sleek than a simple cone-topped cylinder. I wonder what a VLD-type shell would do for those 2k shots?

Still, ya gotta admit that 1543gn at 3380fps is beautiful anyway you look at it and especially when you need it jumping
