A friend gave me 175 rounds of the ammo shown in the photo. Can anyone tell me if it has corrosive primers? I haven't pulled a bullet, but I'm betting it has Berdan primers. Any other comments would be appreciated.

I don't speak or read French, I'd just consider it corrosive and clean your rifle as appropriate for corrosive ammo. I think the ammo might be designated as M1949, but made in 1952. What is the headstamp?

I don't know about European cartridges of this vintage having corrosive primers or not.

Certainly the 1950s was when we, here in Britain, started going to non-corrosive but still Berdan primed military ammunition and civilian ammunition.

So I'd clean as if it were corrosive and take a belt and braces approach!
