Anyone familiar with a source ( online or printed page ) that would educate me on the history of the old manufacturers of British sporting cartridges? Who was who "back in the day", who still is in business today making the classic old rounds in modern manufacture?

Westley Richards still makes / imports many of the oldies. They have a website. If you are interested in specimens for a collection, try contacting "QuarterIncherNV" who is a member of this forum. Real nice guy who purchased some boxes to obtain singles for himself which he has shared at about cost to other members.
