While processing a batch of 45 ACP cases picked up at the range, I ran across a few headstamped "Federal NT .45 Auto". These were small-pistol primed and had flash-holes about .098" rather than the .086" flash-hole of the R-P cases. Anyone have any info on this variation?

That is some of the new "Green" ammo. Means Non-Toxic. Uses a copper jacketed, zinc core bullet, and nontoxic copper-colored primer. Contains no heavy metals or toxic metals. Several different manufacturers make NT ammo.

Thanks Ray... yes, the primer was copper rather than tinned. My problem is that I handload so extensively that I never know what's being done commercially!
