It was 17 degrees F & it was my youngest GSP's birthday (8 yo) so I called two of

my good hunting buddies to go chase late season birds. We decided to hunt some

big draws on the periphery of the ranch that don't get hunted much. Ended up doing quite

well, got six birds total in 4 hours of hunting (isn't that cold when you're walking up

& down steep hills in a foot of snow!). Anyway my dog, Baxter, was happy, he did well.

Plus my friend Neil brought pheasant stew in a thermos which really hit the spot!

Just a great Saturday

Man I miss bird season already!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.
