Waterfowl hunting for Teal, Wood duck and Canada Geese has come and gone for most of us, but our second season on Canada's will open next month followed by the 2020-21 open season for all waterfowl in late November. If you haven't made plans yet, we have some great sea duck hunting in MA & MD, ducks & geese in NE and conservation light geese in AR & NE. Our TX operation is already booked full for this coming season but if hunting the gulf coast where thousands and thousands of waterfowl winter there is of interest, you can book for 2021. Update: My TX outfitter tells me that currently, one of his friends who guides has some openings during December-January. He is $225 per day with a 3 man minimum, 5 man max. If your interested, send me your dates and I'll confirm if they are open during those days.

LDK, elaborate on the Redhead hunting. What other species are taken on those redhead hunts? What are the details if 2 or 3 of us came?

DLS; These are some of the ducks both puddle & diving that are found in Texas. Those marked with an * are usually found in daily bag limits. Of course there are always days when other species are taken, such as a Blue-wing Teal drake, Mottled duck, Shoveler, Bufflehead, Ruddy duck, but normally the Wigeon, Pintail & GW teal along with Redheads are the most common birds taken in the bays. Sometimes you would see Redheads in flocks of thousands. Inland hunts would normally find Gadwall, Wood ducks etc.

We are booked 100% at this time. Unless a small party has to cancel, I can't offer any spots for Fall/Winter 2020-2021. However, I can speak to my outfitter and see if any of his fellow guides have an opening for 2-3 hunters. I am booked for first week in January 2021 for ducks/fishing and Nilgai hunting so I'll post a post trip report. Thanks David. Wigeon, green wings and pintails are all very common where I hunt in California, so the real interest is the Redheads and Canvasbacks. Where I hunt in Idaho, it’s 95% mallards, with the balance woodies or the odd teal or sprig.

Actually, we’ve shot lots of all those puddle ducks except Blue Wings and Mottled ducks. I’ve shot enough divers that all I’m really interested in are the redheads and Cans.
