We had a great time in Nebraska last week. We started slow with stagnant migration but temps began to drop and the birds were on the move again. Travis put us on the birds! I took both Hutcheson and Richardson's Canada geese, a fine bull Pintail and several prime Greenheads. Other birds consisted of Greenwing Teal, Wigeon, Gadwall, Redhead, Goldeneye and Shoveler. Lots of Mallards and quite a few Pintails were around. Snow and Ross geese along with the small Canada's. Hoping to go back for geese in January as all of the players should be in the giant cornfields by then. There's still time to book if you hurry for ducks but all geese will end in early February, then Snow/Blue/Ross will open for no limit conservation hunting. Teal season is just around the corner and NE usually gets a lot of Teal. Mainly Blue-wings with the occasional Greenie. Limit should remain at 6 per day with an 18 bird possession limit. New options are in place this year. Cost is $150 per day for hunt only. Local motels, food super Walmart in town. Destination is in York, NE but you will hunt where the birds are. Book early if you want a spot for Teal or regular duck/goose season. Contact me with questions, references etc. I've hunted with the outfitter for several years now and plan on continuing.
