I implore you to let go your bitterness as it does not become your positive nature. If you allow our adversaries to control your emotions, then you give them mastery over your very soul; you fall into the trap of ultimately becoming what you oppose and lose the best attributes that comprise your very essence. As I've come to know you, I have grown confident in your ability to see the good in any situation and your tenacity in conquering adversity, qualities that I admire very much in my friends. Difficult as the challenges ahead may be, the steepest mountains to be climbed do not originate from without, but from within. I am confident that you are worthy of these challenges and can overcome them, and offer a hand in friendship that we may walk this rocky path together and refuse to allow our adversaries to defeat our spirits. If your strength should falter, I will gladly offer a portion of my own, as I am doing now. Our incarceration will be difficult, but short; our victory will be hard-fought, but glorious. We will rise from the ashes of defeat and persevere to destiny. Die Wahrheit macht frei.

I can't speak for Don, but her unbridled ego, the likes of which are matched only by Hillary, scares the shit out of me Eeker
Scarier yet is the fact that reasoned voices like Peggy Noonan were muted by dullards such as Palin. Eeker Eeker

There isn't enough money to keep all three going indefinitely without changes. GM could be immediately profitable if they closed all their US plants.

Unlike Damien, Palin at least was able to say "no" to a guy in a suit holding a fistful of money.

I caught part of Rush and he brought up a good point on auto bailout. Just how much say will Obama, Barney, Pelosi and the rest of the ultra liberal forces have to say about what kind of cars the big 3 will be able to produce?

buckshot -

when you made the peggy noonan comment, you weren't making it in order to highlight the accuracy of it (but even if you were, let's face it, it was a coin toss); you made the comment in order to provide her as an example a "reasoned voice." even she admitted she wasn't reasonable when she made that unreasonable comment, hind-sighted accuracy aside.

Gatogordo, the ONLY feasible way to help the Big 3 with a mere $25 billion is to fund the money after a bankruptcy. To put the money in now is merely pouring cash down a rat hole.

Close, but no cigar. I made that statement in the hopes of showing that reasonable statements made at that instant in time, were suppressed. I made no attempt whatsoever to hide Noonan's retraction, rather, I chose not to include it from your quote.
Yup, it's that simple.

First of all the big three WILL NOT GO UNDER. This year they sold over 3,000,000 cars. Chapter 11 does not mean a total loss of business. It is simply a restructuring of management and debt. Ultimately, the best companies able to accomplich this will survive, the others will fail.

The answer is to allow them to restructure, get rid of the union thugs, and allow the American people to choose what vehicles they wish to drive. Get rid of CAFE standards and other worthless government dictates, and these businessess will thrive.

I find it rather ironic that only when it comes to ecinomics do the Libs let darwinism and the whole "change" mantra go out the window and then they suddenly find religion.

Yea, I feel real sorry for all the whine ass union bastards and enviro-nazis who are killing the auto "creators"..

Im for ecinomic darwinism. After all, that is the way life is for the rest of us who live in that strange realm called "reality". Something this country could use a strong dose of and may well get it very soon.

As for Sara Palin, If Oblaama was half as smart as CNN says he is then he would appoint HER as Secratary of the treasury and say, "I want you to be my Harry Truman, get rid of all the $300,000 toilet seats starting with the ones in the halls of congress.."
