i would like to request in the most emphatic terms that this topic not be pissed on. cuts the rope is a very old and respected name in this area and i am extremely proud to see a descendent of this family carrying on the honor and traditions of the white clay people.

quote:
I implore you to let go your bitterness as it does not become your positive nature. If you allow our adversaries to control your emotions, then you give them mastery over your very soul; you fall into the trap of ultimately becoming what you oppose and lose the best attributes that comprise your very essence. As I've come to know you, I have grown confident in your ability to see the good in any situation and your tenacity in conquering adversity, qualities that I admire very much in my friends. Difficult as the challenges ahead may be, the steepest mountains to be climbed do not originate from without, but from within. I am confident that you are worthy of these challenges and can overcome them, and offer a hand in friendship that we may walk this rocky path together and refuse to allow our adversaries to defeat our spirits. If your strength should falter, I will gladly offer a portion of my own, as I am doing now. Our incarceration will be difficult, but short; our victory will be hard-fought, but glorious. We will rise from the ashes of defeat and persevere to destiny. Die Wahrheit macht frei.

Is there anything we can do to help the cause? Send an e-mail to DoD or the Pentagon?

>>>A bipartisan group from California's congressional delegation on Friday sent President Bush a letter asking him to review the matter.<<<

well, fuck gates for sure. if bush denies the honor after review, then fuck him too, especially after this:

>>>Peralta, a "Marine's Marine," deserved the Medal of Honor, Cuts The Rope said.

"They've been whispering that in the wind ever since President Bush mentioned him in a speech," he said. The president singled out Peralta on Memorial Day in 2005.<<<

six - i think that would be a good idea. not sure where exactly to send an email, possibly congressman?

Fellow Marine Robert Reynolds, who was next to Peralta, figured the short and stocky Marine nicknamed "Rafa" saved at least five lives by his actions.

A Pentagon-appointed panel concluded that Peralta's actions did not meet the standard of "no margin of doubt or possibility of error," because he likely was hit by a friendly fire shot. The panel had questioned whether Peralta was fully in control of his faculties after being shot.

If the standard "no margin of doubt or possibility of error," has been strictly adhered to in the past and the panel has concluded that in this case there is a slim possibility of doubt, then the decision must hold.....to allow such an honored award to deteriorate is a slap in the face to every one that ever won the National metal of honor in the past.

I would salute the military for strict adherence to it's high standard.....assuming this has been the case throughout history....

This, however, should in no way detract from the honorable standing of Sgt. Rafael Peralta.

I personally would support a local memorial in his honor as well as the Navy cross which is still a distinguished award.

I realize my post will be not well received.....just calling it the way I see it.

I will be praying this is over turned. I believe Vapodog is correct and for what ever reason there is some doubt here.

Does anyone have the correct address to send a e amil to? I would love to send my vote of confidence for Metal of Honor. Not that anyone would care, but It could not hurt.

God Bless Mr. Cut the Rope, and the U.S.M.C.

As a side note. I never knew how greatly patriotic the native Americans where till I went on a ministry trip to the Popular Idian days this summer. They love to serve this country and are proud as hell to have done so in the US military. And they honor their vets better than any group of people I have ever wittnessed. It was an awsome weekend. Plan to do it again. Pow Wow's rock!
