What if a state government put it to a vote like gay marriage was recently put to a vote? What would you do if the people made guns illegal?

Would you say "tough shit for us", like you say tough shit for any other minority group?

Would take a constitutional amendment or repeal of the 2nd. Check into what it takes to get that done and you'll discover why it will never happen. Besides Aliens, asteroids, and monster quakes will get us soon enough... Big Grin

Me, I would move, but I would accept the vote. But no worry, Wyoming has the highest firearm ownership per person in the USSA!

Not much chance of it ever happening here in MT. But in that event I would pick up and move to a gun friendlier place.

The Founding Fathers said, "......do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

George, Tom, John, James and the rest of the fellers "Ordained," the Constitution and The Ammendments to it. Any law, rule or ordinance that abridges the freedoms retained for all US citizens by our Founding Fathers is clearly illegal and I will not abide by it.

I did not abide by Clintons "Politically Correct Speech admonitions, I did not follow Clintons federal assault weapons ban and I certainly will not knuckle under for any future "vote of the people," or elected executives assault on my Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms.

The Bill of Rights was not intended to be and shall not be allowed to be voted away by the whim of fickle voters or representatives.

The RTKABA is a God Given Right recognized by a State, in part, since 1066.

The State can't legally revoke God Given Rights.

The real question is why do all major religions
hold homosexual behavior a sin and a practice not to be encouraged?

Why is ldo so militantly supportive of the GAY/LESBIAN lifestyle?

REPENT v. To sorrow or be pained for sin, as a violation of God's holy law, a dishonor to His character and government, and the foulest ingratitude to a Being of infinite benevolence.

Because those relegions that are bible based know that the bible speaks very clearly that homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of god.
There fore if you are a believer in God and are trying to live a godly life. Homosexuality flies in the face of your beliefs, and every thing that you say you stand for.
Does that give us the right to hate the homosexual. No it does not! But it also doesn't give us the choice of condoning thier life style either.

If such a thing happened in my state it would be a very hotly divided issue and I don't think you find any LEO's wanting to be part of the round up. I would be a felon I suppose.

The right to keep and bear arms isn't subject to a vote of the people. The bill of rights took that matter out of the hands of the voters. It's no different than the people voting that you don't have the right to free speech, or association, or to practice your religion. It doesn't matter what the people want in these matters because they are rights and not subject to the whims of voters or legislators, or judges, or...well, you get the point.

Try as I might I don't see any refernce to fudge packing and muff diving in any of the Constitutions. Did happen to notice something about fire arms.

Jim

The average American walks about 900 miles a year.

Another study found that Americans, on average, drink about 22 gallons
of alcohol a year.

That means that, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to
the gallon.
