Now We Are Really Going Nuts! .12 And .14 Bullets
I have several barrels in both .12 and .14 caliber.

Never really paid too much attention to them.

Now I am thinking of making my own bullets for these, and try to make my own dies, to neck down 22 Long Rifle cases for them.

I have no idea how difficult this might be, and what time it might take.

I am going to start by making suitable bullets on my CNC lathe.

This is the easy part.

I have ordered 4mm copper and brass rods.

My supplier does not have them, but said he can get some.

Some clever nitwit here said “Saeed is finally engaging his brains to make stuff that matches it in size!”

The idea is to pull 22 rim fire bullets out of their loaded rounds, and may be even use that powder in the new wild cat clap

22LR are very limited by pressure and case rupture!
Go for necked down 25ACP.

Maybe look at this forum: http://www.saubier.com/forum.html
They have been there and done that so you only have to do a copy-paste ;-)

I am not interested in high velocity for these.

Just for fun shooting in our range.

That's the reason that I have played with wildcats over the years. It's just plain fun. Every time I thought I had come up with the newest thing since sliced bread I would look up in P.O. Ackley's books + damned if he didn't do it years before. Still, no reason not to play though.

P.O. Ackley's Vol. 2 shows a .14 Jones, a .22L.R. necked to .14 but he doesn't have any data for it. He does have data for the .14 Walker which is based on the .221 case. It looks to be a real screamer.

Let us not forget Ackley's "eargeschplitezenloundenboomer"

Can't wait to see your handloads, Saeed! Going for an Ackley shoulder?

Cool

I have an Anschutch action ear marked for this project.

I have the barrels.

I can make my own bullets.

And in the process of getting suitable reamers.

Have already designed a suitable shell holder.

This might turn out to be fun.

I might make two versions.

One based on the 22 LR and one based on the 22 WMR.

I agree Bill, why not go for the 40-degree shoulder? When playing with new development, go for the gusto. Big Grin

Saeed this is a great idea and you need to name this the .12 Tyrannosaur. Show someone the video of your 577 Trex and tell them its from the same cartridge family. Hand them a gun with the round chambered and watch them flinch themselves forward as far as the Trex used to throw them back. Big Grin

Years ago I was given a 458 Winchester Magnum Rutgers # 1

I re-chambered it to 460 Weatherby Magnum.

Then made an insert to fit it chambered for the 223 Remington.

We used to give to people to shoot with the 223 insert.

After a few shots, we keep them busy and remove the insert, and stick a 460 Roy d in and give it back to them!

Shame we did not have video cameras then.

Well its never too late Saeed, do you still have the gun?
Though unfortunately your videos are too well known now it may be difficult to find someone willing to fire anything you hand them. Big Grin

Low velocity I bet, when Saeed get's some experience with these he'll amuse us with pressure tests on the .10 caliber Pup or Dart. Or maybe the .12 caliber Mink?

Saeed, here's another purveyor of the mini's, enjoy.
