I will measure it and tell you tomorrow.

In the meantime, I have decided to make a modification on our bullets for this years hunt.

The ones we hunted with last year had a 3 mm HP, 9mm deep.

For this years bullets I am going to make that 2mm HP 14.5mm deep.

We will see how these perform compared with last years on game animals.

Saeed .. on your hollow point's
are thay dish shaped or V shaped hollow's

And on another note .. about your .700 diameter bullet's

What taper do you use ..

i started making them in a 10 deg/ Semi Taper
to a Semi Rond Nose

The picture is quite fuzzy ..Sorry ..
but on the right is my .510 diameter 525 grain jacket falt point's for the 50 cal lever's

and on the left is my new .700 diameter
800 grain jacketed bullet's

i used a 0.035 giled jacket on them 90-10

i also am making them in a solid

i also have ordered another swage design for the .700

It's a 10 deg streight taper to a flat point.

I will be trying to do some partition's in that design in 1000 and 1200 grain .

Any thought's ?

Martin,

You can only fit 1 inch diameter stock into this lathe.

Our HP are actually drilled with a drill. We used to use 3mm drills, and now decided on a 2mm drill, but instead of going only 9mm, we have increased the depth to just over 14mm.

The .700 bullets we made before were all RN designs - made on a manual lathe. We have not made any on this CNC lathe as yet.

I will post pictures when we do.

Saeed

While your at it send me a good camera Smiler

Are you trying to get the bullet to open up a little more and still retain it's weight on impact?

Our original bullets opened up alright, but I just wanted to see how makiing teh hoel deeper would effect their performance on game.
