I needed a 2 GB COMPACT FLASH card for my CNC lathe.

Not available locally, as the capacity is too small for anything.

Ordered one on Amazon, price about $12.

A week later I get a small package, with 37 cards in it!!??

They must be giving them away fro free!

rotflmo Damn, I should have you order all of my Amazon items! What do you suppose caused it to happen? Sheer stupidity by Amazon? AR member working at Amazon who recognized your name? The Chinese company who makes the compact flash cards decided to have Amazon send you enough to ensure that at least one of them worked? rotflmo

One of the shops I was trying to get one from earlier said he would buy some.

I said I will be happy to charge him $20 each!

That is the price he said they might go for when I asked him earlier!

He said he would pay $17, as he intends to sell them at $25 now that they are hard to find.

I sent him 6.

Telling him they are to be given free to good customers.

He agreed.

I have been dealing with him for many years, and I know he will keep his promise.

A while ago I needed some tape for a label maker I use to make labels for my reloads. I ordered 6 cartridges for about $3 each. I received 6 CASES of 48 cartridges each! That'll last me a while.

When I 1st went into business for myself in the sheet metal business about 40 years ago I had a roofer call me + wanted a quote on about 20K 0r 40K, I don't remember now of 3" X 5" plates to interlace on repairs on a cedar shake roof (still legal then). I shot a price off the cuff at 10 cents each + he went for it. Now I was scared that I had underbid the job. So to see where I was I called another metal shop+ asked them what they would charge me for the same. They said "5 cents". I told them to build them.
