Here is my take on the superlatives used in the classifieds and Offered Hunts Section

New: An item that I used on 3 hunts and it only has one scratch on it.

New: in the Box: An item I shot, but it kicked really hard and I only shot it once.

Like new: Means it rode from the trail head on the back of the sixth mule back and got scraped against every Ponderosa pine tree for 18 miles.

Rare: means they are not rare.

One of a kind: means that there are probably 50.

Never before seen special: means that in 3 or 4 years during the next election you'll actually get a better price.

Quintessential: means perfectly typical or representative of a particular kind of person or thing. If you use it in every advertisement it begins to not mean anything .

Huge discount: means I knocked off 5%.

Cancellation: means I knocked off 10%.

Huge cancellation hunt: means I knocked off 11%.

The average bull elk is 320: means that if you see a 5x5 on the first day you better shoot it.

Average 360 bull elk: means that if you see a 6x6 that scores 300 shoot it now.

Guaranteed 360 bull elk: means they are in a 5 acre pen in the middle of town.

90% shot opportunity: means that we took 15 hunters last year and 4 got their animals.

Gratuity: means that if you don't tip 20% I will call the local police and ensure that you get raped in your cell.

Right on!

The tipping/gratuity stuff especially. That really needs to be phased out. I no longer go on guided hunts because of it. Tell me what the hunt costs and maybe I will take it. I will no longer pay a gratuity.

I worked very hard all my life. I never got a gratuity for it. Not ever. Was never expected or even on the table. Most of us never get gratuities for our hard work. IMO, ranks as one of the dumbest things ever devised by humans.

There are specifically two of our members that use that.

Very funny, I had forgot about that.

I had certain members in mind when I was writing it.

I thought AR classifieds would be immune from price gouging.

But not surprisingly, there it is!

The price may seem fair to you but too high for me. or vice versa. If you thing the price is too high, don't buy it.

Very true.

The good deals go fast the not so good ones hang around awhile.

The real deals go off to gun broker.
