KenscoThe Emperor of All Maladies
Anything from Ken Burns is always outstanding, but I caught parts of this documentary the last two night on PBS. It's a stunner; following the evolution of how we perceive and confront cancer. It's a very hopeful saga, with heroes on all sides. One thing I particularly liked was how it humanized the professionals that have to deal with cancer; winning and losing the battle, every day.
For anyone that has lost someone to cancer, has cancer, or fears cancer; which is pretty much all of us, this is a fascinating story. (I'm not sure how it would "read", but I'll probably get the book to find out.)

Very good book and Ken Burns did a great job on the documentary.
I saw part of it and will probably buy it on DVD. Too depressing to watch it now as I have a close friend (52 years old) in hospice dying from a combination of breast, lung, brain, bone, liver cancer. Its terrifying when cancer wins and spreads.

NormanConquestWhen my daughter came out of med. school,her 1st offer was from big pharm.Their opening offer was 7 millon. Seriously.Thank God for her character;she declined. She then did pediactricts for aids babies,,but spends her time in either africa or haiti ..God Bless her. There is more than ,money in this world.There is hope + caring for our fellow ,man.
