Selling mounts comes up fairly frequently here, with the usual (correct) response being that it's hard to get anything for most.

There's an auction house in Texas, Taxidermy King ,that consistently gets the best prices I've seen for good quality mounts. You certainly won't make a profit from hunt/taxidermy costs but they definitely have a market.

I've not done business with them nor do I have any connection to them, just an observation on their results. That page will let you see their upcoming two-day auction in Fort Worth as well as their previous results.

I was going to bid on a couple things! Seems like this is kind of a joke! I registered a few days ago. When it came time to place a bid, web site said credit card needed to be approved. With technology today, it should take seconds not days to be approved!

That's strange. I've been registered at LiveAuctioneers for a long time, I snipe good quality hunting books when I find them orphaned in the wrong auctions.

A hippo skull with all its teeth just hammered down at $5,000 even.
