So I just bought a place in the high country in Arizona with an 35x60 aircraft hangar. I want to put all my taxidermy in the hangar. Won’t be too hot in summer at 6,600 feet but could be chilly in winter but not Montana chilly. What would the biggest issue be? Thanks for any info

Bugs may be my guess? Temperature changes? Don't think the rodents could get to them. Not much humidity in AZ.

Trapped humidity do to changes in temperature, and don't underestimate bugs and rodents, they have endured for thousands of years, I would definitely put some rodent traps just to double check

Is it sealed? If not, get a bunch of silicone and seal it up.

I doubt that temp differential will be horrible, but you can always pick up a wood stove on Craigslist for a couple hundred bucks. Install with stove pipe and 'roof jack' adds maybe $500. Now you have a warm place to enjoy your taxidermy during winter.

I'm building a new TR now, starting with a steel building as the sheath. The metal buildings get condensation on the ceiling. Assuming this is a steel building, you can do spray insulation fairly reasonably, which I'm told stops condensation.

After that, I agree on the bugs: You can do some 'bug bombs' in there periodically for this. Rodents often will try to sneak in, keep traps and poison on hand for them.

Inspect your mounts often. Every 6 months use Mount Medix on them (directly) especially anything with horns (sheep/antelope etc). Then, after misting MM on each mount, set off Raid Fumigators. They come in a twin pack. Do this twice per year. Set glue traps under any furniture or cubby hole in your building. You'll find out soon who your neighbors are. Good luck, LDK

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
