Drilling on The Way

luv2safariDrilling on The Way
I pulled the trigger on this one. The fact it's an "S" bore, and that I have it's little brother in a LUX grade 6.5X57R, AND that they take plastic proved my undoing.

loud-n-boomerVery nice, and a great pairing of gauge and caliber. Hope to get a chance to see it in person.

luv2safariWhat's that strange shotgun shell in the right tube???
I have a 22LR Kreighoff stick all ready to drop into this new gun.
There's sure a certain grace in those hammer guns.

9.3 X 75RVery rare in this country. Few have heard of it and even less have seen many of late. It's called a 22 Long Rifle.
My einstecklauf is a Sempert/Krieghoff, one of the 10 inch barrels. It's "minute of squirrel head" accurate out to 35 yards if I have a rest, open sight. For me, 25 yards offhand. Killed two with it this morning....and they're in the freezer with the others!!!!
I admit to a well developed prejudice in favor of drillings and old hammer drilling in particular. Couldn't agree more luv.

Black FlyNice find!
I know you don't have access to little whitetails and eastern wild turkeys up there in the wilds of Nevada. Perhaps you would like me to store it for a while and see if it works on turkeys for you?
I could make room for that one in my safe.

luv2safariYou are all heart, Fly.
I've been looking for one like this in S-bore for years, one still sound with a decent scope. I believe 1953 was the year Sauer started making drillings again after WWII.
This gun isn't a cosmetic prize, so I feel far more comfortable stumbling over the lava beds chasing devil-chuckarbirds.
