Does anyone have any experience with the D99?
Specifically , are they steel shot proofed?
I have asked the importers, they don't know, and are waiting (as usual) a while for a reply from Blaser. The 95/97 series BBFs are, but the catalouge doesn't mention the D99.
Alternatively, does anyone know of a steel shot proofed drilling?

Cheers, Dave.

N E 450 No2, do you mean that site that has about 20 members? Wink

Seriously I logged on over there, posted a few Q&As on the Combogun threads, without much luck.

How does your search for your new Kreighoff go?
Any luck? Congrats on your upcoming retirement BTW, now we will both be 'gentlemen of leisure' and free to pursure life's finer things. You know, hunting and fishing, spend time with (or without!) family. The search for the perfect venison receipe, and argue over which white wine is best with grilled salmon, etc.

Have fun!

Cheers, Dave.

Dave,
e-mail Aleko at Heritage arms, if he does not know he can porbably find out.
I talked to the Krieghoff people at DSC. Seems they are going to only make the Quadro drilling from now on. At least that is what I was told. I am waiting for some pictures to be e-mailed to me.
When I get back from Africa I will start a hard look for a suitable drilling.
Today is my first day in retirement. Sure feels good. Big Grin

Dave,
I did a little research. Blaser now makes a "Slug and Steel" combo gun. Still checking on the D99

Yes, the 'slug and steel' gun is the 95/97 BBF. That's the one I have (actually the only steel proofed gun I have!), but there are lots of times I would like the extra shotgun BBL.
I'm still waiting to hear back from the factory about the D99.

Cheers, Dave.

O.K! finally got word back, the D99 is NOT steel shot proofed, except as an upgrade to Brierly chokes. Only an extra $1200 AUD, over the $6700 AUD of the original standard grade gun.

Might just have to learn to get along with the 95 BBF for now.

N E 450 No2, have fun in Africa, let us know how you get on?

Cheers, Dave.
