Digging into my piles of stuff, I found a semi-inlet sporter stock for a garand. Roll over cheekpiece, long, winslow type pistol grip Eeker Has anyone actually put one of these on? Do you want another Wink

I think a "Sporter" Garand is a good idea.

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

That gun was up for auction on one of the internet auction sites. I don't know anything about the history.

Over the years, I have seen much better sporters produced from Garands.

IIRC, back in the 1960s, Williams Gunsights published a guide on sporterizing military rifles, including Garands.

A couple of years ago, I came across a sporterized FN-49 in 7x57. I bought it because it was too neat to pass on, but I've never shot it.

It looks better with the iron in it then it does just the bare wood. On it's way to Jerry H now, we can see what he does with it!

That would be www.mccannindustries.com

They made M1 Garandsa in 338 Win Mag and 458 Win Mag.

Not sure if they still do.
