Guys thinking about moving my '98 from wood to synthetic. I need some ideas on a decent one from now or past in case I run across one on ebay. Do not want to spend $250-$300. powdr | ||

I have used several from MPI, of Portland, Oregon. Lower price and good quality. Maybe a little more prep/finish work required. Jerry Smile...God loves you! | |||

Hogue makes the best in the $100 range. Might try ebay there are often 98 stocks for sale. There was a guy selling MPI seconds on ebay a while back. As usual just my $.02 Paul K | |||

I've owned several + I personally prefer the Houge over the B+C due to the external soft rubber gripping feature.Much better in cold + wet conditions. Never mistake motion for action. | |||

Bell and Carlson would be the only choice at that price point on a Mauser. McMillan might have one on sale if you watch their sales page. | |||

Bell & Carlson are decent synthetic stocks and you can get them in an assortment of colors. Be careful when you order. They offer one stock inlet for military M98 Mausers and another inlet for Mark-X and similar commercial Mausers. . | |||

Sure thing gaps and holidays in epoxy lay up poor quality of the stock - not "straight" anywhere, requires bondo in many places -- which makes it much heavier (not saying these have been bent, they aren't graceful) poor intetting, one has PISS POOR epoxy mix, very brittle frankly, these aren't even a starting point for me -- a $69 ramline at least can work with about 10 minutes work, and don't get much heavier #dumptrump opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round?
