BrandoBarrel dimentions for Sendero Remington
Im trying to find the barrel dimentions for my Sendero 7mm Mag.
In the near future im going to convert the rifle to a 338 RUM, and I want the aftermarket barrel to be the exact same dimentions, just in stainless.
Its an older model Sendero, action and barrel are matte blue, 26" long and a semi-heavy profile.

duckboatI believe Remington uses their varmint contour for the Sendero. If you want the new barrel to be the same dimension, then if possible, ship the barreled action to the gunsmith and it shouldn't be a problem to match the contour. Here's a link for Shilen's contour page that shows some dimensions:

Antelope SniperMost good barrel makers will know the contour on something this common. If you want a specific factory coutour, I'd go with Lawton out of Montana. They will cut shape any factory profile for no additional charge. They are great guys, and provide a first rate product.

BrandoReason im wanting to stay the same dimentions is so I dont have to do any modifications to my H&S stock. Other than the basic stuff and possibly a tiny bit of material removed to free float the barrel.
My goal here is to have a semi-portable long range hunting rifle. Probably going to get a Kreiger barrel in about the 26" length. Chambered in the mighty 338 RUM, but the idea behind the build is to keep the rifle looking VERY similar to the factory form other than the Stainless barrel of course. I think it will look pretty bad ass to have a Matte stainless barrel with the matte blue action. Now I just need to track down a stainless spiral fluted bolt, attach the badger ordinace handle and I will have my dream rifle.

Sid PostPac-Nor did this to a 270Win Remington 700 that I had redone as a 338-06AI. I then sent the barreled action off to McMillan where it was fitted with an HTG stock.
Sweet stick.

Krieger makes a nice barrel. I think Lawton's are just as nice without the wait...Either way, I think you will be very happy when you are finished.
