JES reboring
Does anyone have a pic of a barrel caliber stamp by JES after changing the old caliber to the new caliber by this company?

Thanks in advance!

I have seen a post of a picture where the old was C’s out and new put beside it but can’t remember which forum it was on. When he did an 8x57mm to 9.3x62mm for me he didn’t mark it at all since my intention was to have it milled out and stamped there.

I told them to not mark it; I had one rebored about 6 months ago. I don't know how they do it but I know how I do.
And yes this belongs in gunsmithing; nothing to do with bore size.

Thanks for the info guys!

And, mods feel free to move this over to gunsmithing.

Hopefully, someone will have a pic of a new caliber stamp on their rebore.

The reason for my inclusion in the medium bore subforum I guess, was that I was thinking of reboring to make another 338-06 and also a 358 Norma. But the gunsmithing subforum is a better idea!

For me, when they even use the term "stamp"; I would run the other way.
You want it engraved, not stamped. Or rolled is good but the dies cost $300 each.

I have had JES rebore two rifles for me, neither one came back with any new caliber mark at all. They both shoot great, but I thought they really should be marked somehow, or a discussion of marking should have happened (I accept responsibility on the second non-marking because I knew the first one didn't get marked).

For sure. That could be quite a danger as the rifle moves on to new ownership.

Probably optional as some custom gun builders and customers like to do that themselves..I see it as an option and a service to those down the line that might come in possession of the gun.
