In September, I put a large order of these Axes for Christmas inventory which was completely sold out by mid - November Frowner)

.I immediately re-ordered more and they just came in.Smiler These will.be the last of the Outfitters axes at the introductory price if $129. After Jan 1st, they go up to $139.

This is Josh Clarke's "Outfitters Axe". It was designed as the big brother to his popular Riflemans belt Axe .
The idea for these started last Fall when one of his customers who is a registered Guide asked if he could make a larger version of the Belt axe for saddle use.

The Axe is 34 oz and is 18 nches long. The head is an Iroquois style with a fully hardened flat hammer poll . The Axe head is about 6 oz heavier than the Belt axes . The bit has agressively flared cheeks for full splitting capabilites. The neutrally balanced head along with the straight handle provides a lot of blade speed and striking accuracy. Testing has proven these to be wicked little choppers and splitters, as good of a 2lb axe as you can buy.

Made from US made Vaughan Axe forgings ,the head is reshaped and tge edge is hand ground ,and given a razor sharp 25 degree inclusive cuttng bevel. The performance rivals anything coming out of Sweden these days and I believe these heads are actually a bit tougher and less prone to chipping.

The Handle is hand shaped, sanded and torched .Then it's given six coats of pure Tung oil .The resulting finish is smooth but still grippy. The Axe comes with one of Josh's hand sewn Vegetable tanned leather masks (shown in the second pic) and heavy duty leather throat collar.

The Axe ,Leather Mask and Collar is $129 shipped.

PayPal or USPS MO as payment.

UPDATE- 12- 22- 19

All Christmas orders are either now delivered or en route.

Several folks have contacted me during the last 48 hours asking about buying an axe after Christmas.

I put in a standing order with Josh that I would take any axes he completes by Jan 1st at the 2019 price.

So, a.half dozen Outfitters axes and a couple more belt axes will be arriving by this coming weekend.

HALF of those are now already sold .. Anyone interested in an axe should contact me if they would like one from that group.

Thanks.

Sean,

We are fine..

And I applogize for any confusion due to my sometimes poor writing skills. Wink

I never purposely "ignore" any post. Or anyone's PM messages. I saw your your PM message last week . In that first PM you stated you wanted an "Axe".

Since there are two types -until I saw your post here I did not know which one.

I replied to your PM on the 18th and have held back an Outfitters axe for you since then. Smiler
