Best way to determine value is look on Ebay. Looks like an Enfield type.

I have just like only in better shape I belive civil war springfeild. The The story behind mine is my great grandfather brought home from the war.

What is the ID of the socket? If it is about .770, it is for a .58 Rifle Musket; if it is about .740, it is Trapdoor; which were all made from .58 rifle musket bayonets. If it is something else, it is for something else. Definitely not Zouave, which used a sabre bayonet.

There's a Brown Bess at a local gunshop that has a bayonet that looks like that, it is triangular. I can't tell from the pics, is yours triangular?
