A lengthy discussion of my hero, John Taylor.

Taylor's Knock Out (K.O.) values clearly explained and is probably the biggest ballistic contribution to big game hunting, especially elephant, since the 1800's.

Hunting stories including "Selous," in my opinion the best elephant hunting story I've ever read.

Extensive ballistics on all of the big bore cartridges, including the equations used for muzzle energy, K.O., penetration index, recoil, and so much more.

Photos of some great Holland and Holland double rifles.

And why the .375 H&H Magnum is not an elephant gun!

Sent you a PM.

I'll have to think about the mule thing.

I've bought a bunch of bad mules over the years, so I should('ve) know(n). Not much different than buying a good horse, and there are hundreds of articles giving advice on buying a horse.

My rule of thumb, gotta be 12 yo or older.

Better yet if you can shoot near them, can throw blue tarps at them, etc. The list is long!

Gotta be prepared to spend lots of time with a mule. They're like a dog. They need to trust you.

And, no matter what they say, all mule traders are liars. Steer clear.

Enjoyed the book. Entertaining and educational. Good prep for my first elephant hunt this year.

I'm now know that my .375 H&H .500 Jeff will do the job.

Bill, heaven knows I have bought enough copies of your book for my self + friends but I was wanting to reread it the other day + guess what, I can't find it anywhere. The curse of having too many books I suppose. Anyway I want another copy (signed of course) Please P.M. me your address again. I know how it works, as soon as this one arrives, I'll find my old copy. So what, it's good reading + then I can have one to loan out w/o worries that it will never come home.Best, Randy
