What powder has given you the fastest speed for a 280 with a 22inch barrel, and not giving up any accuracy, I'm trying to work up a load with 140gr bullets different kinds, and want as much speed as possible safely. Been thinking of trying H4831,RL19, and RL22,which would give best results,or any other suggestions.

I'll go against steve on this. My own .280 runs out of cap. w/ RL25 & lighter bullets. I would go w/ RL22 for highest vel. My own rifle like IMR7828 better. I can get 3100fps w/ a 140gr bullet & 59gr IMR7828 in my 23" bbl. IMR78228 also comes in a SSC version which allows you to get 59gr in w/o too much compression. I like RP 9 1/2 & Fed.210M primers in this load.

RL22 or IMR4831 would be the point to look for fastest loads.....accuracy is to be determined!!!

I would say that RL19 would be right in there with the best of them.
