LWDThe Nosler 70 grain Ballistic Tip shot real well in my .243. On the other hand the 55 grain was awful.

TEANCUMMy Rem 700 CDL 243 loves the 55 grain Nosler BT's with good groups on paper, good groups on rockchucks and coyotes and good groups on deer. 55 grains NBT at 4050 fps does the trick on all the above.
I've been messing around with the 70 grain Nosler BT's and came up with a load for them at around 3725fps with good groupings.

craveman85id like to find a really accurate load that uses as little powder as possible. i dont need to shoot above 3200fps since it will be mostly paper punching and id like to have a really light load for the gf to shoot before i send her on her way with my 100 grain hornady interlocks i just picked up. guns got a metal but plate and can surprise you if your not paying attention. i was shooting off a bench with a sandbag and it pinched the skin on my armpit on the bench when it recoiled once. had a nice little tear on it. my 45-70 does the same thing too if your not careful
if at first you dont succeed. blow it up.

Red C.The very best groups come from 65 grain Hornday V-Max bullets pushed by Varget.

Everything I say is fully substantiated by my own opinion.

swampshooterI've had best accuracy from 87 gr. V-Max and a max. load of 4350. Very accurate and carries well at long range.
velocity is like a new car, always losing value.
BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.

Red C.In my Ruger M77 .243 the Varget charge was 39 grains pushing the 65 grain V-max. This was an extremely tight shooting load. On a couple of occasions I've had all 4 shots touching at 100 yds.
In my Marlin Bolt Action .243 my most accurate load was 38.5 grains of Varget pushing the 65 grain V-Maxs.
I should have listed the charges on my first reply, but I figured you'd have to work up the loads from the minimum recommended and watch for pressure signs as you try out the loads.
Hope yours shoots this combo as well as mine do.

LWDI, like a couple of other posters, are using the Sierra 85 gr HPBT in my .243. Based on what I've seen so far on deer it will be a good coyote bullet as well. My load is a max charge of 3031.

StonecreekMy HB .243 shoots the 70 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip exceedingly well. As a bonus, the very similar Sierra 70 grain Blitzking interchanges with the Nosler in my gun with the same powder charge without changing velocity or impact point.
I've had good luck with slower powders like N160 and IMR 4007 at around 3500 fps, but if you are looking for a slightly lower velocity with less powder I would suggest trying either version of 4895.
