Any one have data for this anywhere? At one time I was told H205 was really Norma MRP which then became Rel 22

It turned out to be a bit faster than Norma or RL 22 . It was reputedly a great powder in the 30/06 . For an example , 60 gr. was supposed to push a 150 gr bullet to 3000 fps in the 06 . I shot quite a few of those loads , but didn't have a chrono in those days so I can't say if it really turned up that much speed..........

You should be able to pick up a Hodgdon Manual from the period H205 was available.

H205 was MUCH faster than Norma 205, and data should never be interchanged.

H-205 falls between H-414 and N-160.

I have data for that powder on a limited number of loadings.

I have some data. It's in several old reloading manuals I have. H205 is NOT MRP! MRP is about the same as old Norma N205.

I once used quite a lot of H205, and found that in .30 caliber guns, it gave almost exactly the same MV with the same charges as IMR 4350 did, but with a lot less pressure! For example, I used it in the .30/40 Krag (Ruger No. 3), and was able to develop a load that gave 2680 FPS with Sierra and Nosler partition 200-grain bullets. An equal amount of IMR 4350 gave the same speed with thoise bullets, but ruined cases in about three reloadings (loose primer pockets), whereas H205 did not damage the cases in ten shots! I also used this powder in a Sauer 8X60RS double, and could get 2620 FPS with 200-grain Nosler Partitions from it with mild pressures, while the best I could do in that gun with any other powder (IMR 4350 and RE 22) has been 2400 with the same bullets! Fortunately I have had a chronograph since 1965, and have been able to teest such things.

Because I had such good results with H205, damned if Hodgdon didn't drop it!! (This seems to happen to me a lot, when I get a good load, the powder is taken off the market!!) I have NOT FOUND any other powder which will duplicate the performance of H205 in calibers between .284" and .323"!

I wish they'd bring it back, but Hodgdon told me that it was dropped since no-one was buying it!!

I got the same comments from Hodgden, that it wasn't selling well. I however, have a different theory on why it was pulled from the market. People were getting good velocity resuslt from Norma's N-205. I just wonder if ther wasn't problems with people confusing N-205 with the faster burning H-205? Using Norma data with H-205 could very likely cause a gun to come unglued.
I had good results with H-205 in my 30-06, so I wasn't to thrilled when they pulled it from the market. I feel the same way about Winchester's WMR. It was a great powder for my .300 Win. Mag.,.270 Win. and shows much promise in my .280 Rem.
