Pepper3RCBS neck sizing die
I need instructions on how to set up the neck die. Does the brass require lube? Thanks.

dpcdIf your brass is clean, some guys don't; I do. Try it and see how much force is required. I think it will still promote stretching if you don't. Collet dies, no.

Haven't had that happen Tom. Most I hardly have to press on the press handle. One can always buy bushing neck sizing dies with a titanium bushing. Easier yet. Then there are the LEE neck sizing collet dies. Those babies work very well!

Pepper3I have used Lee neck dies. Do the rcbs neck dies adjust in the press the same? thanks

dpcdThe Lee Collet dies don't impart any friction at all so don't need any lube.
I see bench resters at the range loading with hand, neck sizers; they never use any lube.

DaleI have used RCBS and Lyman neck sizing dies in many calibers since the 1970s. Never had to use any lube but I am always careful the first time to make sure I don't stick the case. I do like to use a little graphite inside the case neck so it slides over the expander ball easily.

NormanConquestI use RCBS + Hornady neck dies + only use graphite. It's quick, clean, + easy.

PanchoI don't lube. I do run a brush through the neck to clean out fouling before I size the case.

Clean graphite?

dpcdGraphite is nasty dirty stuff; I use the white powder; mica.

craigsterI've tried the Motor Mica stuff, doesn't seem as slick as graphite.

dpcdNo it isn't, but it is fine for what he is doing, and is not dirty.
