After cussing the 6.5 Creedmoor for years I finally got one a few months ago. Issue is I need to get one load to stick with if possible.

I’ve got Berger 130 VLD hunting, 142 ABLR, and a few boxes of factory ELD-X’s.
I have some ELD-M’s Although I’ve done it I’m not much on hunting with target bullets.

The only thing I will be hunting this fall is deer.
What are your favorite loads in the Creedmoor bullets and powder?

It absolutely loves the 143 Eld-X factory loads. Replacing them might be hard to do currently. Have a little over 3 boxes left.

Mine loves the 129 LRAB (RL-17) and the 140 ELD-Match (RL-26)
.
I've used the 143 eld-x on deer and wasn't impresses. Seemed like not enough expansion to please me.

129 AB's do very well so the 142"s should too but I have not killed with those so take that with a grain of salt.

Bro used a 130 ELD_M on antelope and its quite violent. A bit more so than I like but deadly nonetheless.

With all that said, nothing has ever crawled away during our limited experience.

I've called and killed WAY more coyotes with the 6.5 CM than deer by 10 X.

Say what? I thought y’all had an unlimited supply of hogs out there in Texas? How would three boxes last very long?

Maybe in a state that you only draw once every few years.

Tongue in cheek statement. I forgot we have some smart asses on the forum. I’ll try to only post “serious” comments in the future.

What kind of velocity do you get out of the 129 LRAB’s?

I use the 143 gr. ELD-X on cow elk. 41.6 gr. H4350 with a OAL of 2.805" About 2650 fps MV from a 22" barrel. All shots under 200 yds broadside with pass through and no fuss, no drama.

Like here; we have an unlimited supply of hogs; 50 million a year.
So, 3 boxes of ammo might not do it.

Mine really loves RL-16 and the 130vld's at 2,880. I think its 43ish grains, I can look. Generally its a sub 3/4" load.

I'm also testing the 123gr "Absolute Hammers" from hammer bullets at just over 3k fps with IMR-4166. Showing promise with those.

I can check my notes if you want specifics.

Tikka T3x lite in a B&C stock, 24", 1:8".

Please remember your mileage may vary.
I use Lapua brass, Sm Rifle 205 GM Match primers and RL-17 and achieve and honest 3000 fps at muzzle (2990 at 10') with my 129 LR Accubonds out of a 24" Lilja 3 groove 8 twist barrel, according to my LabRadar. I've cycled some brass through 7-8 times now and pockets are still tight.
I'd suspect this IS an over-pressure load (duh) but the combination works well, shoots very well, brass life is just fine, bolt lift, extraction, ejection primer evidence is all good too.
