eurocentricBell Brass .404 Jeffery
Anyone have any experience with this brass, I just purchased a bag of 100, had to put them in my tumbler overnight to ge them nice and shiny again. Comparing them to Norma brass (new) they look slightly shorter.

I use it in two wildcats and never have had any problem. In the .358 X .404IMP the 250gr. bullet is pushed at 3150 fps + so I assume the pressure is quite high. Only once when I stupidly left the cartridges on the front seat of my truck in direct sun light did the rifle show hard bolt handle lift. Not a lot but it was there. The extracted brass retained tight primer pockets.

The last time I saw Bell cases, they were more than that. Where are you getting them for $65/100? I don't need any but for that price, maybe I should buy some.

fredj338Looks like you got the last of them, good find. I have 3 firings on mine w/o trimming.

I'll tell you, I love mine. No pesky belts for me. It's a game killer for sure w/ managable recoil.

AtkinsonI used it for a number of years until some better stuff like RWS, Norma, showed up..I had no complaints, but RWS is the very best brass in the world today IMO>..

adamhunterEuro,
Have you fired any loads with your Bell brass? Bought some myself and it is indeed short. All my data says trim length is 2.860. Even after sizing mine is 2.847.
What are yall's measuring?
Thanks
Adam
30+ years experience tells me that perfection hit at .264. Others are adequate but anything before or after is wishful thinking.

The unused out of the box cases measure 2.846" to 2.855"

eurocentricDifficult to find RWS brass, their reseller here is Fiocchi and they make one order per year, BUT you need to put the money upfront: below is what I was quoted by a Fiocchi rep about 2 weeks ago:
20 box minimum
or 2 case minium, sept 2008.
submit order by june 30th 2008.
200 rounds in case =
total ammo cost =
t mantel = 97.20 per box
v mantel = 93.92 per box

I have loaded about 600 rounds using 300-450 bullets. I dont see any differences compared to the Norma or A-Square ammo I purchased. I dont have a chrony yet and the OAL is so minimal I dont worry about it. The Brass has performed extremely well. I bough around a 1000 cases.

I agree, I have a CZ classic and it handles beautifully, the recoil is less than my Ruger hawkeye 375 Ruger and Winchester 375H&H. noticed the muzzle blast is less than the other two as well.

AtkinsonRWS 404 can still be ordered but its a specialty item for some reason now and its very expensive...
I have about 500 cases that I bought about umpteen years ago, most has been shot 3 to 4 firings with about 100 that are still new. No, its not for sale...It's the best brass in the world in any caliber...
