Not sure about the 404, but all your other cartridges are listed on Hodgdons website with data available for IMR 4451.
Hope this helps.

Wherever 4350 is useful so will IMR4451 be useful.

If it's a deal on the powder, I say go for it. I've been thoroughly impressed by the Enduron powders (4451 and 4166). The performance, consistency, and cleanliness is a winning combo.

how does 4166 compare to varget and rel 15 for 308 and 30-06? i get good results with 45.0 gr rel 15 in 308 w/a 168 gr HPBT and would like to dup that with 4166.

4166 is in the same burn rate class as Varget and RE-15, so it's suitable for the same cartridges and applications. The charges are most certainly NOT the same, so work up accordingly. IMR/Hodgdon are really good at releasing the data when it's available via their website. Check it out.

358WCF, that's good to know. my favorite + most used rifle powder is 4350. That being said, if you are getting the 16 lbs. at a good price I would jump on it. Who knows what will be available over the next 4 years.

If it is a good price nothing wrong in buying for future use.

I have passed up powder deals in the pass then only to need it later.

I tried some 4451 in a .30-06 and .308.

I didn’t get anywhere near the velocity that the book (Nosler) claimed with a starting load, and accuracy was not that good. However, I didn’t work up a load, and both of the rifles I know like faster loads.

I still have the better part of a pound left, so maybe I will play with it some more- but my 4350 loads work great, so not much incentive for now.

With the new powders near or max loads work best. I was told and have read that they are designed to be at their best at 60,000 PSI or more.

4451 in my 7-08 works very well with 140 gr. bullets.
