Just for fun I have put together a 22/250 with a 1 in 6 twist barrel on a Parker Hale action.
I have purchased some Barnes LRX 77 gn bullets
and have taken a throater to the chamber to allow me to seat them so that only the boat tail section protrudes below the base of the neck.
On a rough calculation this has raised the available capacity about 8-10% over a standard
reamer chambering (theses are very long projectiles).
I would be very grateful for some suggested load data.
Thanks
Wombat

A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of drought and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!

I thought about adding a fast twist barrel to my 22-250

The ballistics are interesting.

I would have started with blowing that case out to an "AI" platform before I did anything else.

Brass will last longer taking out all of that taper to the body. Especially if you're going to be pushing it for max pressures.

4350 burn rate powders is my preference for the 1:8"tw Bbls that I've burnt out pushing 80's & 90's at 3200fps shooting OTC & 8,9 & 100yd prone matches since the mid 90's.

At 3200fps, out of a 6" twist barrel, would exhibit a bullet rotation of 384,000 rpm, using a 0.224" diameter projectile.

Any thoughts/worries concerning bullet deformation and/or blow-up??

Just a thought.

I put a fast twist bbl on my Swift; the difference between 80-90 gr bullets in the wind vs 50-55 has to be seen to be believed - like half the drift.

That's exactly what I built.
75 ELD-M's and 80 grain Custom Competition shoot like a champ over RL-23 powder.
