After a 6 year wait from my taxidermist, I finally got my Mtn Lion home. His present home is temporary until it warms up and I can remodel my living room with a higher ceiling.

6 years? Wow...

It looks good though. Six years seems way too long though.

Nice work. Many taxidermists cannot do cats well. Yours obviously can.

I agree with your take on the pose of that cat. The facial was done perfectly for the stalking pose.
Like someone else stated I may use your pictures for a leopard if I ever get back to Africa, but closing on 85 years of age, and the pandemic, I doubt I will ever get back there.

Very nice realistic mount of a very very nice big kitty.
What’s the deal with 6 years for the taxidermist?

Thanks for all the kind posts on my kitty!

I've used this taxidermist since 1982 when he did a just under 2# Grayling for me, and this lion was the 63 mount that he's done for me. We've been friends for years, hunted together, and I would think that I could get some priority, but that's just the way he is.

He does excellent taxidermy work, his prices are about half of the big name taxidermists, and his cats are, I think, top of the line.

The habitat on his mounts is very sparce and I have added habitat on all of the mounts that he has done for me that require habitat. I'm planning on adding some snow and icicles and maybe some greenery to this lion rock.
