Likely no pressure problems, but the oal will severely limit bullet length or powder capacity. My 86 will only feed a max length round of 2.74".

If you want to PM me your snail mail address I will send you a dozen or so of the two GC bullets I have.

One is a round/flatnose 620gr GC design that is 1.272" and the other is an RCBS design truncated cone that weighs 475gr GC and is 1.013" long. They are wheel weights and alox lubed.

regards,

Rich

PS: you do know that you need a 550 Gibbs, don't you?

Hi,I have ordered the new Woodleigh 500Gr Flatpoints as they were designed for this cartridge.I have 525 cast bullets and I guess they will be enough...I have a friend do the loading,so I dont want to get to complex...550 Gibbs...I like it,but I have enough Big Boes for now and my 600OK does it good.I may even replace it with the 700OK if it comes out as nice! Thanks for the offer!!

Go to mountain molds, you can design whatever bullet you want, just dial in the nose length, meplat dia, desired weight, number of lube grooves et al. Excellent molds and reasonbly priced.

SafariKid,

call and ask how long the area from the crimp groove forward is. That is the limiting factor, since the case is straight.

if you fllow the link and click on details it says 1.060 length and .520 nose to crimp and .375 meplat.

the 50-110 is 2.4" brass if i am correct so the oal will be 2.920" with the 590 grainers

you could trim the brass by.070 to get them to work

We are up late!I see, that is interesting...you shotned nose to get oal down w/o shortning brass..and I still have 600grs!..Problem 1)..Mountain moulds may take months to do this?..2) alot of extra steps to get to that 600grs from 525-35 EZ grains 3)I dont cast, but I am sure I can find someone to do so...I tell you what,I am contemplating taking this 86 with me to Tanzania this September and Bashing a Big Bull with it and if I do,it would be worth it to go 600grs(plus I could use them in my BFR's!)...or just drop him with a EZ 525?!..again,I thank you for these efforts!Neat Stuff!..(Barnes just came out with a new designed mono solid in 570 grs,but grooves may be wrong for OAL)
