Hi all, I finally got to the range today. It was abit late in the evening, so I don't know if my not as good as I would have liked group sizes were from the light or not, but I do have some chrono data.

One note here, Dan tried some WC820 in his 357 and found that it burns faster than expected when comparing it in 454 loads. This was also true today in my loads as I blew one primer in the Rossi Rifle in a load that I thought should have been safe.

16gns 1770fps, the primer fell out when the shell was extracted. The anvil is still stuck in the primer pocket!!
The 12 and 13gn loads shot pretty good groups. I think I need to put a peep sight on this. My eyes are getting older and it's harder to keep everything in focus.
The 14gn load started to have questionable primers, so I didn't shoot a target with them.

I tried some Cat Sneeze loads.

All of the above loads were shot without earplugs in. The report was a sharp, short crack that wasn't very loud and didn't cause any ringing or pain. They are abit louder than the 38 spl CAS loads though.

ive found it burns about the same as aa9 as a matter of fact im betting there the same powder.

Lar, I'm shooting 19.0 grains of my lot WC 820 under C358-180 in Max cases in a 22" Handi for just under 2000 fps and all the accuracy anyone could ask for. That does not translate directly to data for the Mag, but I woulda thought the Mag could take 14-15 grains.

I'm not getting any stuck cases and primer pockets are still tight after 3-4 firings. My primers are pretty thoroughly flat, but they are not riveting. Of course, I am using Win SR primers.

Accurate Arms shows a top of 14.2 grains of #9 under a 180 bullet in a 22" Marlin .357 for 1620 odd FPS. This certainly supports the view that WW 820 and AA 9 are at least equivalent.

I just wish that Quickload had AA#9 in it's database.

The pressure signs seem to be more severe in the rifle compared to the pistol.
