Bush Man,
I have one of the new Winchester M1886 Light Weight rifles. It has a 22" barrel. Its well made and strong.
I have a SUPER BEAR THUMPER cast bullet load. I am using a 565gr FN Gas checked bullet that I have been getting from Western Bullet Company. I load it ahead of 42.0 gr of IMR 3031, CCI Magnum Pistol primer (hard primers in this inertial firing pin gun sometimes cause misfires) gives 1525fps on my Chrony. It is too long for a Marlin at 2.675", but feeds thru the '86 just great.
I have some lighter bullet loads but they are the same ones in the loading books, more or less.
