Guys,
I've had some cast lead projectiles in storage for quite awhile. When I pulled them out to use some are beginning to show signs of oxidation. There's no problem shooting them is there?
Thanks...

The oxidation shouldn't hurt anything, as long as they are clean. You could give them a wipe before loading if it bothers you. To avoid it in the future, just add a bit of dish soap to some water, dip the bullets, and let them dry. They will stay nice and shiny.

SOme will say that the older lead bullets will get a bit softer. shooting them is no problem though.

I found pure lead balls for my muzzle loaders get oxidized faster then my hard cast. Now when I have a box full, I spray them with Birchwood-Casey Sheath, WD40 or Zip and they stay bright for years. Never tried the soap, but if it keeps oxygen away, go for it.
